The Orbit Chroma Key is the summer 2023 edition of Orbit, Chris Brown's deck brand geared towards cardistry (the art of performing flourishes and eye-catching moves with cards). Its colour is designed for chroma key, the video technique that replaces a uniform colour, usually green, with any other image or background during editing.

Design

It keeps Orbit's graphic line, but with a saturated green that, in editing software, can be replaced with almost anything: colours, textures or video. This way, anyone filming cardistry or magic can change the look of the deck in post-production. For those who do not edit video, it simply works as a very eye-catching coloured deck. In addition to the usual cards it includes a double-backed card (with a back on both sides), a duplicate 8 of Spades and two additional green cards designed for editing.

Manufacturing

It is printed by the United States Playing Card Company on thin crushed premium stock, a thinner, pressed stock that feels flexible from the start, with an Air Cushion finish (a very fine embossing that helps the cards glide). It uses a traditional cut, the printer's classic cutting system, which leaves a different edge from the modern cut. The print run was 7,500 units.
