6x6 Cubes

The 6x6 cubes belong to the big cube family. They are even NxN puzzles, so they have no fixed middle layer and share with the 4x4 the logic of moving centres, edge pairing and parities. The difference is volume: with many more pieces, each move affects a smaller share of the cube and solve times are considerably longer.

The usual size is between 60 and 68 mm. Current flagship models are magnetic with single-track or dual-track systems and many offer a UV finish. Beginner ones (non-magnetic) are perfectly valid for learning the method, though the turns are looser. It is not a usual first purchase: it makes more sense once you already handle the 4x4 and the 5x5 comfortably.
