Fingerboard trucks, wheels and spare parts

Here are the parts to build a fingerboard from a loose deck or to repair and upgrade the one you already have: fingerboard trucks, bearing wheels, replacement hangers and screws, grip tape and a tool. Everything shown as available is in our Madrid warehouse. The parts are from Blackriver, its entry-level range Bollie and Riptape.

Fingerboard spare parts by type

Fingerboard trucks

The 32 mm Blackriver 2.0 in gold are single-axle trucks with lock nuts, for Wide decks. The Bollie Color Line are metal and come with bushings in two sizes, screws and a tool: a good option for moving from a toy fingerboard to a wooden one.

Fingerboard wheels

The Blackriver Blank Street wheels are POM, with a street profile with a small contact patch and a system that holds the bearing so it does not come out. From Bollie there are the Pro Wheels and the Bearing Wheels in yellow and red, plastic with bearings.

First Aid hangers and screws

Blackriver's First Aid series lets you replace only the part that broke. There are single hangers for 29 mm and 34 mm trucks, and screws to fix the trucks to the deck in silver and black.

Fingerboard tape and tool

The pre-cut Riptape Classic is self-adhesive foam rubber, with a slightly rougher feel than the Slim & Catchy. The Bollie tool combines a screwdriver and a wrench to assemble the board and tighten nuts.

How to choose fingerboard trucks and wheels

Truck width matches deck width

This is the main rule: the truck should be the same width as the deck, or very slightly less. Blackriver makes its trucks in 29, 32 and 34 mm. For a 32 mm Wide deck, 32 mm trucks; for a 33.3 mm X-Wide or a 34 mm deck, 34 mm trucks.

Bushings: how much the board turns

Bushings are the rubbers between the baseplate and the hanger. They work as on a skateboard: soft, the board turns with little effort but is less stable; hard, it turns less and feels firmer. The kingpin nut adjusts the tension within that range, and if it is still too loose when fully tightened, it is time to switch to harder bushings.

Wheels: bearings and material

A bearing wheel spins freely and barely slows down, so the board keeps rolling after the push. The material changes the feel: hard plastic or POM wheels slide more and sound higher; urethane wheels grip more.

Fingerboard spare parts: frequently asked questions

Which trucks should I buy for my deck?

Ones of the same width. Check the size in the deck's name: 32 mm, 32 mm trucks; 33.3 or 34 mm, 34 mm trucks.

What is a hanger and why is it sold separately?

The hanger is the T-shaped part that carries the wheel axle and scrapes during grinds. It takes the most punishment, so Blackriver sells it separately so you do not have to replace the whole truck.

When should I replace the wheels?

When the bearing spins with difficulty, the wheel has play or has worn unevenly. If your fingerboard has wheels without bearings, switching to bearing wheels is a change you notice from day one.

Do these parts fit other brands?

Riptape grip is cut to fit almost any deck. First Aid hangers and screws are designed for Blackriver trucks. For trucks, what matters is that the width matches the deck.

How often should the grip tape be replaced?

When it goes smooth where your fingers rest and stops gripping. Peel off the old one, stick on the new one and trim the edge.
