The Skewb is a cube-shaped puzzle with a mechanism that is completely different from the 3x3: turns happen on 4 diagonal axes (through the vertices) rather than through the faces. It is an official WCA event and it is usually learned relatively quickly because there are few cases, though the visual recognition is unlike the classic cube. It is a good second or third puzzle to add variety.

Skewb puzzles measure roughly 55 to 60 mm on each edge. Magnetic models are more stable and suited to speedsolving; non-magnetic ones are affordable options to try the mechanism. Alongside the classic Skewb there are variants: the Wingy Skewb, the Skewb Mirror, the Domino Skewb or shape-mod versions that keep the vertex-turning logic in a different shape.

It fits naturally with the other two non-NxN WCA puzzles: Megaminx and Pyraminx. The shared baseline is still the 3x3.
