Cube sets and bundles
A set groups several cubes in one box: typically the 2×2, 3×3, 4×4 and 5×5 —the so-called WCA competition sizes— or combinations that add megaminx, pyraminx, skewb and others. Buying the set instead of the cubes individually is usually cheaper and gives you a natural progression from one size to the next.
They are the most common choice for getting started: someone who begins with the 3×3 and wants to expand without stepping outside a coherent range avoids the classic mistake of mixing brands and finishes. For those who already know what they want, a competition set with timer and bag has everything ready without having to source accessories one by one.
How to choose a set
- Beginner: 2×2 + 3×3, light and non-magnetic. Enough for the first weeks.
- Progression: 2×2, 3×3, 4×4 and 5×5. Covers the main competition sizes.
- Competition: the same sizes in magnetic version, with timer and pouch.
- Beyond NxN: packs of megaminx, pyraminx, skewb and square-1 to complete the speedcubing world.
