The Console Series is a limited Sweets Kendamas run in which Christian Fraser, one of its veteran players, took inspiration from three well-known video game consoles. The X-Ball, in black, is one of them.

Design

A kendama is made up of a ken (handle with spike), a sarado (the piece with the side cups) and a tama (the ball). The X-Ball uses the Turbo, the shape Fraser himself designed from the BOOST, one of the brand’s most popular, with a sleeker silhouette fine-tuned for taps (knocking the ball against the ken) and kenflips (flipping the handle). The base cup has a balance bevel with a hole, and the 62 mm tama has graphic shapes on top that help you follow its orientation.

Materials and finish

Both ken and tama are beech. The tama debuts the Break-In Bevel, a recess around the hole that makes stalls, the tricks in which the ball rests on the ken, more stable. It comes with Anti-Skid 2.0, a matte clear lacquer that gives grip but leaves room to correct the ball during a trick.
