The Strogo Neapolitan from Krom, the Danish kendama brand, takes its idea from Neapolitan ice cream: vanilla, chocolate and strawberry stacked in a clean tama design that is easy to follow by eye. This is the vanilla version.

Design

A kendama has three parts: the ken (the handle with the spike), the sarado (the crosspiece with the side cups) and the tama (the ball). On the Strogo, the tama has two pronounced bevels that act as tracking lines: grooves that stand out while the ball spins and help you know where the hole is without cluttering the design.

Shape and finish

The Lambo is a Krom shape with sleek lines and balanced weight, designed for stalls (the ball resting still on the ken), juggles, spins and taps. Both ken and tama are made of beech, a hard, durable wood. The 62 mm tama is finished in the Anti Skid version of I+D, an anti-slip paint: it gives controlled grip without being sticky, which is useful for stalls, for the lunar (the ken balanced on the ball) and for linked lines of tricks. The string is attached with a mini bearing, a small swivelling part that stops it from twisting.
