Professor Puzzle’s House Riddle brings to the table the famous logic puzzle known as “Einstein’s Riddle”. It includes five wooden houses, twenty pieces and fifteen clues: using them, you have to place each piece in the right house and deduce who owns the fish.

The riddle

The classic puzzle sets out a row of five houses, each with different characteristics, and a series of clues linking them to one another. With only that information, you have to reconstruct who lives in each house. It has been circulating for decades attributed to Albert Einstein, and it is often said that very few people can solve it, although there is no evidence that the physicist wrote it: it is part of the legend surrounding him.

How it works

Professor Puzzle’s version turns deduction into something physical. Instead of a grid on paper, the wooden pieces are placed in the houses and moved around as possibilities are ruled out. No maths knowledge is needed, just orderly reasoning and checking each clue. It can be played solo or in a group, discussing each step.
