Description
Wheel of Fortune is one of the mini puzzles in the Matchbox series from Professor Puzzle, the British publisher of games and puzzles. It has two pieces: the main piece and a cord with a wooden ball at each end. The aim is to free the cord and then put it back in place.

How it works
It’s a string puzzle, part of the disentanglement family. The balls at either end stop the cord from simply slipping out through the holes, so you have to find the route that lets it come free. No force is needed; pulling on the cord only makes things harder. Putting it back together is a second challenge, so it’s worth paying close attention to the route as you take it apart.
The Matchbox series
Professor Puzzle’s Matchbox series brings together small puzzles, each kept in its own matchbox-style box. As well as the main puzzle, the sides of the box carry nine extra printed challenges, so the fun doesn’t end once you’ve solved the first one. The box, the size of a matchbox, slips easily into a pocket.
