Description
The Rings of Fire is one of the puzzles in Professor Puzzle’s Matchbox Puzzle series, from the British brand of puzzles and brain teasers. It consists of two metal rings and a braided cord that keeps them linked. The aim is to separate the two parts and then put them back together exactly as they came.

How it works
It’s a disentanglement puzzle: there are no clasps or knots to undo, and the cord is neither cut nor untied. The pieces are interlinked so that they only come free with the right sequence of moves, and combining a flexible part with two rigid rings means the route isn’t obvious at first glance.
Restoring the original setup is usually as hard as undoing it, so the puzzle can be played again and again.
What’s included
It comes in the cardboard matchbox-style box that sets the series apart, decorated with flaming rings. Nine more matchstick challenges are printed on the sides so you can keep playing.
