Bollie complete fingerboard with the Psychedelic graphic in red. Bollie is an entry-level brand distributed by Blackriver: it is designed as the intermediate step between toy plastic boards and pro completes, with a wooden deck and metal parts at a less demanding, more affordable level.

• Deck5-ply wood, standard concave
• WheelsPlastic with bearings
• IncludesDeck, riptape, trucks, wheels, screws and tool

How it’s made

The deck is made from five pressed wood veneers and has a standard concave, that is, a moderate side-to-side curve that helps your fingers settle in place without being exaggerated. The trucks (the axles that hold the wheels and let the board turn) are metal and come with rubbers, or bushings, in two sizes to adjust the turning. The wheels are plastic with bearings, ball bearings that let them roll further and more quietly than plain wheels.

What’s included

Deck, a sheet of riptape (the foam grip tape that gives your fingers traction), two trucks, four wheels, washers, eight screws and the tool to tighten them. It usually arrives unassembled, so putting it together is a good way to get to know each part and learn how to adjust it.
