The Sweets Kendamas Broken Bones series was designed by Christian Fraser (@cdfraser9) as a tool for improving ball juggling, taps and spins. Its hallmark is the engraved stripes on the tama. This version is electric pink.

Design

A kendama is made up of a ken (handle with spike), a sarado (the piece with the side cups) and a tama (the ball). On the Broken Bones the stripes engraved on the tama act as a tactile guide: by feeling them with your fingers and watching them spin, it is easier to control the ball’s rotation and learn a clean juggling technique. The ken uses the Broken Shape, designed in 2025 by Sweets pro player Josh Kim by combining ideas from the brand’s earlier shapes, with slightly larger cups, stall points and tama.

Finish and level

The tama has Anti-Skid 2.0, a matte clear lacquer that gives good grip but leaves more room for adjustment than stickier paints. The brand presents it as a progression kendama: it is good for learning the basics and for experienced players working on new tricks.
