The Horizon Fade belongs to the Sweets Kendamas “Classics”, models that bring tama designs from the brand’s early years to current shapes. This version has a pink-to-yellow fade.

Design

The tama, the kendama’s ball, combines a two-colour fade with a white stripe around the middle and a contrasting dot on top. The stripe helps you follow the ball’s spin and the dot shows its orientation in the air. Among players this style is known as “Willy P”, because it first appeared in 2012 on William Penniman’s Pro Model. The ken is simple and uses the Broken Shape, designed in 2025 by Sweets pro Josh Kim by combining ideas from earlier shapes, with slightly larger cups, base and tama.

Materials and finish

Both ken and tama are beech. Sweets has released this design with two lacquers: Sticky Clear, which is clear, glossy and slightly tacky, and Anti-Skid 2.0, a matte lacquer with a softer grip that leaves more room to correct the ball. Both work for balance tricks; the difference lies in the feel each player prefers.
