The James Bond 007 Box Set is a special edition from theory11 that turns the box itself into a small gadget in the style of the Bond films. When you lift the lid, a 007 pen appears, and that pen is the key that unlocks a hidden compartment holding three Gold Edition decks. It went on sale in autumn 2024.

Design

The outer box is decorated with motifs from the saga, including the Bond family coat of arms with its motto Orbis Non Sufficit (“The World Is Not Enough”), and with gold foil (metallic stamping) details. The three decks are the Gold Edition version: each deck's tuck box is printed entirely in gold, unlike the original black and gold edition, with gold and iridescent foil and embossing you can feel to the touch. The back and faces also carry gold foil details, while the card design keeps the style of theory11's James Bond deck, with references to the films and 007's gadgets.

The pen

It is machined from a single piece of solid brass and works with a bolt-action mechanism (operated by sliding a small lever, like a rifle bolt). It takes a German-made ink cartridge, so it can be used as a normal pen.
