Description
King's Head is a Joker and the Thief series that revives the style of the decks the United States Playing Card Company made in the early 1930s. This purple and pink edition applies that classic design to a colour combination less common among vintage-inspired decks.

Design
The project grew out of a 1940s Maltese cigarette packet with a royal figure on the front. Felipe Calavanti illustrated the deck using the aesthetics of the first decades of the 20th century as his reference. The court cards (J, Q and K) start from antique courts, redrawn so they remain easy to identify in play. Highlights include the illustrated Ace of Spades and the cards for the Joker and the Thief, the brand's characters, who in this series are shown hatching a plan against the King. The tuck box features a richly worked illustration.
