Bee x Cherry is a collaboration between Bee, one of the oldest casino brands in the United States, and Cherry Casino, the line inspired by vintage casino decks. This set brings together the three versions of the collaboration: red, blue and a black one exclusive to the set. According to the publisher, it had been more than ten years since a custom Bee deck was printed.

Design

Designed by Phill Smith, the decks combine Bee's characteristic casino back with the clean style of Cherry Casino. The tuck box bears the label “No 92”, a nod to the New York Consolidated Card Company, which made the first Bees in 1892. The Ace of Spades and the joker bring together elements from both brands. The black version features gold cold foil (a metallic effect applied during printing itself) and a numbered seal.

Manufacturing

They are printed by the United States Playing Card Company on Bee stock with a Cambric finish, the characteristic surface texture of Bee decks, with a fine embossing that helps the cards glide and fan out evenly. The three decks come inside a rigid engraved case. The set is limited to 2,500 units and the publisher stated that it would not be reprinted; the red and blue decks were also sold individually, in runs of 3,500 each, but the black one exists only within the set.
