Description
Samurai Otter is a series of decks from Bloom, a small Tokyo brand, produced by the studio Room One Cards and released in 2024. It revolves around an otter in samurai attire. Mizu, the Japanese word for water, is the standard blue edition; it is joined by Hono (red) and two limited special editions, Indigo Ronin and Scarlet Bushido.

Design
Its most distinctive feature is the multicolour foil (metallic stamping): the artwork on every card carries foil in several shades, rather than the single colour normally used. In this version blue is the dominant colour on the back. The tuck box also features embossing and foil details.
Manufacturing
The metallic effect is applied with cold foil, a technique that lays down the film during printing without using heat, making it possible to combine several metallic colours on the same card.
