The Premier Edition in Jet Black (Private Reserve) is one of the colour variants of the Premier Edition line from Jetsetter Playing Cards, a brand themed around aviation and travel. It is conceived as a tribute to the decks that casinos and airlines used to hand out, with a clean, contemporary look. This version is associated with those who travel first class or by private jet, hence the “Private Reserve” name.

Design

The whole deck is in black and white: the classic casino-inspired back, the faces and the box all follow the same palette. The faces keep the standard design, though recoloured to fit the whole. One particular feature is that it has no jokers: instead it includes a blank card and a double-backed card, two cards that magicians often put to use in their effects. The box has clear spot UV varnish applied to specific areas (a gloss that highlights parts of the design) and silver foil details (metallic stamping).

Manufacturing

It is printed by Expert Playing Card Company, an American printer commonly used by independent deck publishers. It uses its standard stock with a classic finish and traditional cut, a way of cutting the cards that makes them easier to interweave in shuffles such as the faro (splitting the deck in two and interweaving the halves card by card).
