The Vintage Chicken Nugget is the second parody that Hanson Chien Production Co. has devoted to the Jerry's Nugget, the decks from the Las Vegas casino of the same name that now fetch collector prices. This is the black edition, one of the colour variants that rounded out the series.

Design

In 2012 Hanson Chien released the first Chicken Nugget, which imitated the colours, Ace of Spades, tax stamp and joker of the Jerry's, but with court cards that have broken their diet and are shown eating doughnuts, popcorn and other fast food. He later researched the history of the Jerry's and found its oldest edition, printed by Arrco Playing Card Company (the printer that the United States Playing Card Company bought in 1987). After authenticating an original copy, he took that version as the model for this parody, hence the “Vintage” name. In the black edition, the dark colour replaces the shades of the main editions while keeping the same artwork.

Manufacturing

A specific card stock was developed for this series, called “Vintage”, thinner than usual, with the aim of coming close to the feel of those old decks and being comfortable for cardists and magicians. The collection was crowdfunded in 2020: the main editions were the blue and the green, and the black, sky blue, dark red and green foil were added as stretch goals of the campaign.
