Description
Grinders is a Midnight Cards deck designed by Randy Butterfield. The name comes from poker slang: a grinder is a player who makes a living from the game by patiently winning lots of small pots, and the deck revolves around that idea of edging your way towards victory. The project was funded on Kickstarter at the end of 2015. This is the blue version, which pairs with the copper one.

Design
The back includes discreet references to casino games such as poker and roulette. The court cards have been redrawn by hand in a style of their own, yet remain easy for any player to recognise. The jokers are poker players illustrated with a comic-book feel, and they hide a Queen of Hearts that allows them to be used as a prediction in magic tricks. The tuck box is printed on matt black paper with silver and blue foil (metallic stamping).
Manufacturing
It is printed by Legends Playing Card Company (LPCC), a printer the designer had worked with before, on good-quality card stock with its Classic finish, designed to help the deck withstand continued use.
