Complete fingerboards: assembled and ready to ride

A complete fingerboard comes with everything you need to get started: a deck with grip tape, two trucks with their bushings, four wheels and the hardware, and in many cases a tool to adjust it. It is the simplest way to start or to get a gift right, because the parts are already designed to fit together. Here are the completes in our Madrid warehouse: Tech Deck to try it out, Bollie as a first wooden fingerboard and Blackriver in the professional range.

Which complete fingerboard to choose

Tech Deck: the 96 mm toy to start with

Plastic and metal, 96 mm, with graphics licensed from skate brands and recommended from age 6. It comes apart like a skateboard so you can change wheels and trucks. There are several graphics: Primitive, DGK, Thank You, Hoops Stevie or the Finesse series.

Bollie: first wooden complete fingerboard

Bollie is the entry-level range in the Blackriver catalogue. The Psychedelic sets have a five-ply wooden deck, riptape, metal trucks, bearing wheels and a tool, on a deck slightly narrower than the standard 32 mm: green, red and yellow.

Blackriver: professional complete fingerboard

A wooden deck handmade in Germany in a 33.3 mm X-Wide width, Blackriver trucks and Blank Street bearing wheels. There is the Thom McInally pro model, the Anchor Black, the New Skull White, the New Skull Neon and the Mini Logo White.

Collaborations and natural wood

The Blackriver x Krom Kendama brings the two hobbies together with the Funeral French graphic. If you like to see the grain, the Mini Logo Nature leaves the wood exposed.

What changes between a plastic and a wooden complete

A wooden deck is pressed with concave and raised kicks, so your finger finds where to push for the ollie. The trucks on a wooden complete copy those on a skateboard, with rubber bushings that let the board turn when you lean it. And the wheels have bearings, which is why they roll without slowing down. The grip changes too: instead of sandpaper, a self-adhesive sheet of foam rubber.

About width: 32 mm is the most common size and 33.3 mm X-Wide decks give a little more surface, useful with big fingers. If you change parts later on, look for trucks the same width as the deck; 34 mm trucks are used for 33.3 mm.

To learn and to give

With the complete in your hand, move on to the basic fingerboard tricks in order. If you are torn between ranges, compare the fingerboard setups by budget and level. For gifts, there are ideas in the gift guide.

Complete fingerboards: frequently asked questions

What does a complete fingerboard include?

A deck, two trucks with bushings, four wheels and hardware. Depending on the model, they also come with grip already applied or an assembly tool; the details are on each product page.

Which complete should I buy to start?

For a child who wants to try it, a Tech Deck. If you already know you like it, a Bollie: wood, metal trucks and bearing wheels. If you want a professional fingerboard from the start, a Blackriver.

Can I change parts on a complete later?

Yes. Wheels, trucks, grip and screws can be replaced separately. The only thing to watch is that the truck width matches the deck. There are spare parts in trucks, wheels and accessories.

Do completes work on any ramp?

Yes. Fingerboard ramps and obstacles work with any brand. Take a look at the fingerboard ramps.

What is the difference between a Tech Deck and a Blackriver?

The Tech Deck is a plastic toy fingerboard. The Blackriver has a handmade five-ply wooden deck, trucks with bushings and bearing wheels. Control and roll are what change.
