The Bermuda Triangle is a string puzzle in Professor Puzzle’s Matchbox Puzzle series, from the British puzzle brand. It consists of a perforated triangular piece, a cord threaded through it with a ball at one end, and a small metal ring. The aim is to get the ring off and, to complete the challenge, put it back where it was.

How it works

It belongs to the string puzzle family, a variant of disentanglement puzzles in which a flexible part, the cord, runs through the holes of a rigid piece. The ring looks trapped along the route, and nothing may be cut or untied: you need to understand how the whole thing is put together before moving the pieces.

The name and the box illustration play on the famous Bermuda Triangle, the area of the Atlantic associated with mysterious disappearances.

What’s included

It comes in the matchbox-style box shared by all fifteen puzzles in the series. Nine more matchstick challenges are printed on its sides, so the box is still useful once the main puzzle has been solved.
