Description
The Walk the Plank is a string puzzle in Professor Puzzle’s Matchbox Puzzle series, from the British puzzle brand. It takes its name from the image of the pirate forced to walk the plank, and is made up of two small wooden planks joined by a beaded cord. The challenge is to separate the two planks and then link them back together.

How it works
String puzzles are a variant of disentanglement puzzles in which a cord runs through the holes of some rigid pieces and holds them together. Nothing may be cut or untied: you need to study where the cord goes before you start moving the pieces. The beads at the ends stop the cord from slipping out through the holes, which is part of the challenge.
Restoring the original setup is a good way to check that you have understood the route.
