Krom Kendama, the Copenhagen brand founded by freestyle world champion Thorkild May, sells its strings in three replacement packs. The Pop is the most varied: ten strings in ten different colours, plus three mini bearings and a threading tool.

Long strings on purpose

Krom deliberately makes them longer than most players use: 70 cm, more than ten fingers’ worth. That way everyone can cut and knot them to taste, because the length changes how the tama (the ball) responds and depends on your style and hand size. The Pop includes one string in each colour: dark green, lime green, yellow, orange, red, pink, lavender, navy blue, sky blue and a skin tone (nude).

Mini bearings and tool

The three mini bearings replace the traditional bead at the point where the string joins the ken (the handle): they are small parts that spin freely, letting the string rotate and stopping it from twisting as the tama turns. The included tool helps you thread the string through the holes in the ken when changing it.
