The Carat XST is a clear acrylic case for storing and displaying a deck, made by Carat Case Creations. It is slightly larger than its Carat X1 model to accommodate slip-style boxes (also called telescopic boxes, where one box fits inside another), both vintage and modern.

• ManufacturerCarat Case Creations
• Material5 mm clear acrylic and neodymium magnets
• Internal dimensions9.7 × 7.5 × 2.75 cm
• External dimensions10.7 × 8.5 × 3.75 cm
• Contentscase, 4 adhesive pads and a 9.6 × 7.4 cm filler plate (deck not included)

Design

It lets you see the deck from every side. The edges are bevelled and the corners rounded, and the back lid is held by four pairs of neodymium magnets, stronger than ordinary magnets, so it stays firmly closed but opens easily.

Manufacturing

It is made of archival-quality 5 mm clear acrylic, a material designed to preserve objects for years without damaging them. It includes four adhesive rubber pads for the base, which prevent scratches on the case and on the surface it rests on, and a 3 mm acrylic plate that acts as a filler, because vintage slip boxes are thinner than modern ones.
