Description
Hops & Barley is the deck Jocu Playing Cards devoted in 2020 to traditional brewing. It was published in two versions, Deep Amber Ale and Pale Gold Pilsner; this is the pale gold one, inspired by pilsner-style beers. What stands out most is its tuck box, made from paper produced from brewing leftovers.

Design
The design is signed by Alessandra Gagliano. It is a classic-looking deck with all 55 cards customised; the Ace of each edition presents its beer in a differently shaped glass, and an alternative Ace of Spades is added. The tuck box, with a vintage look and a matte finish, has opaque foil (metallic stamping) details.
Manufacturing
The cards came from Cartamundi, in Belgium, on B9 Slimline card stock (slightly thinner than usual) with a linen finish, a texture of fine lines that makes the cards glide easily. The tuck box was printed in Italy on paper made from leftover hops, barley and yeast, as well as recycled beer mats and labels.
