King and Legacy: Gold Edition is a marked deck created by the Destino studio and presented by Spanish magician Julio Montoro. It starts from an almost legendary idea: that kings, on dying, left a legacy through which they continued to watch over their people. The deck depicts 52 inhabitants of a city of dreams and ambitions, heirs to that legacy.

Design

It is fully customised, including the suit symbols on the number cards and the court cards (J, Q and K). The illustrations rely on bold lines over plenty of white space and are finished with metallic gold ink, which also appears on the tuck box. The back combines small symbols, such as musical notes, eyes, flowers and fish, in a pattern reminiscent of a maze. The matte tuck box features embossing and gold motifs.

Manufacturing

It is printed by the United States Playing Card Company (USPCC). It is a marked deck: every card carries discreet marks on the back that let you identify it without seeing its face, and the system is explained on an included instruction card.
