Robin Hood is a deck from Kings Wild Project, Jackson Robinson’s label, dedicated to the legend of the archer of Sherwood. Its look is inspired by the Bayeux Tapestry, the great medieval embroidery that tells the story of the Norman conquest of England in 1066. Robinson drew every detail by hand, imitating the “stitches” of the embroidery.

Design

The court cards show characters from the Robin Hood legend, one per card, with the line work and colours of the tapestry, and the number cards carry highly ornate suit symbols. The two jokers form a diptych, that is, a scene spread across two cards: the first meeting between Robin Hood and Little John, which according to legend ended in a duel with quarterstaffs. There is also an extra card reproducing a coin from the reign of Richard the Lionheart. The tuck box imitates an old book, with canvas and leather textures, a spine, frayed paper edges and signs of wear.

Manufacturing

The deck was funded through Kickstarter and released in 2025. The project included several sizes: the standard deck (Nottingham edition), a large one (Longbow) and a mini (Little John).
