The Bicycle Quiccs Ghost White brings the Bulletpunk universe of the artist Quiccs to a deck. Quiccs is a Filipino artist from Mandaluyong who works in graffiti, murals, graphic design and collectible toys; his Bulletpunk universe, led by the character TEQ63, blends Japanese mecha aesthetics, hip-hop and street art. This edition is the cool-toned counterpart to the OG Black.

Design

The tuck box is textured and combines a white base with black details and touches of red, and it includes nods for collectors such as the number “63”, a tribute to the Philippines, and the three dots that appear on many of his toys. Its back reproduces the card back: a symmetrical two-way design with TEQ63, Mariko and Ghost of Kurosawa in the centre, their weapons and their companions Robodog and Mecha Cat.

The most striking feature is that the card faces are black, the reverse of what is usual. The court cards (J, Q and K) present ghost versions of TEQ63, Mariko and Ghost of Kurosawa with accents inspired by other editions of his toys. The number cards have redesigned suits with a mechanical feel, and the 6 and 3 of each suit, placed side by side, form a continuous illustration referring to “63”. The jokers show Ravager, a corrupted clone of TEQ63, and the two extra cards make up a graffiti piece drawn by Quiccs himself.

Manufacturing

It is printed by the United States Playing Card Company under official Bicycle licence, on the brand’s classic card stock with an Air-Cushion finish, a very fine embossing that helps the cards glide when shuffling. Production is handled by RunIt Decks in collaboration with the artist.
