The NOC3000X3 is the third instalment of the NOC3000 series, within the NOC family of decks founded by Alex Pandrea, which reinterprets its minimalist back with a futuristic look. This silver and teal version, called Species X, is the limited edition of the instalment, as opposed to the black and orange Human version.

Design

The series is built on a fictional story: in the year 3000 an artificial intelligence rules humanity and a rebel sends a deck back in time to keep magic alive; this instalment is presented as having arrived from the year 3030. The Species X version carries that narrative over to a silver and teal palette.

For magic

The back carries markings that reveal the suit of each card (spades, hearts, diamonds and clubs), and the deck includes two gaff cards (gaff cards for magic effects): one double-backed and one with a blank face.

Manufacturing

It is printed by the United States Playing Card Company on thin stock with a crushed treatment (a pressing of the paper that makes it more flexible and consistent when shuffling). The print run was limited to 3,000 individually numbered decks.
