Regalia White is the second edition in magician Shin Lim’s Regalia series, printed in Belgium by Cartamundi. It arrived a year after the first Regalia and keeps its central idea, cards with gold foil (a metallic stamp), in a light-coloured version.

Design

It is designed for magicians, so almost every card looks standard; only the jokers and the Ace of Spades have a clearly custom design. Even so, the court and number cards hide small tweaks, such as the stem of the spades or the frames of the court cards. The back is inspired by Russian art, specifically the wall paintings of the Hermitage Museum, and strikes a balance between detail and simplicity. The packaging consists of two protective pearl-white sleeves, with an inner and an outer cellophane wrap.

Manufacturing

Each card is hot-stamped with gold foil and then protected with Cartamundi’s B9 finish, a surface treatment designed so the foil does not reduce smoothness when shuffling or doing flourishes. The sealing is intended to protect the deck from heat and humidity during shipping.
