Salem is a deck inspired by the Salem witch trials and the mass hysteria that surrounded them. Its design, by Abraham García Sánchez, recalls the power of the crowd and that dark chapter of history, in which some of the accused suffered strange fits that people at the time came to call “the afflicted condition”.

Design

On the tuck box and the back, a series of concentric circles creates a stained-glass effect. Geometric patterns surround a mysterious, shrouded figure, with strange symbols and triangles radiating around it. The background is a bright white, scattered with black ashes alluding to the supposed witches burned at the stake, and in each corner a triangle points outwards, as if projecting that energy. The tuck box closes with a custom seal featuring a red triangle, representing the physical, mental and spiritual dimensions of the human being, on a circle of unity. The jokers and the Ace of Spades are custom designed.
