Puzzle & Perplex is the metal brain-teaser line from Professor Puzzle, the British games and puzzles publisher based in Twickenham (United Kingdom). This case brings together ten models from the series, made of solid steel and presented in a vintage-style box. Each brain teaser is a separate challenge, so they can be tackled in whatever order you prefer.

What is included

The case contains ten models: Bird on a Wire, The Cross, The Bermuda Triangle, The Twist, The Spring, The Nails, The Claws, The Menace, The Enigma and The Rings. In four of them the aim is to free one piece from the rest; in the other six, to divide the assembly into two parts. In every case the second challenge is to return everything to its starting position.

How it works

These are disentanglement puzzles: the pieces have no catches, springs or hidden compartments, but are linked in such a way that they only come apart by following a specific path. Forcing them is no use; what matters is observing how the shapes cross and trying things calmly. Being made of solid steel, they stand up well to repeated use.

What it is good for

With ten different designs, the case lets you switch between challenges without getting stuck on just one, and it lends itself to sharing: each person can take a brain teaser or race to see who solves the same one first. It works both as an introduction to metal puzzles and for anyone looking for a varied set in one go.
