The QiYi QiHeng S2 is the second version of the QiHeng S, QiYi’s budget megaminx. It is a 12-faced dodecahedron, one of the official competition puzzles, and this is the standard, non-magnetic version.

Design
The surface of the pieces is sculpted: it has a relief pattern that helps you hold the puzzle and turn it without it slipping. It is stickerless (no stickers: the colour is in the plastic itself). At about 117 g it is light for a megaminx, which is welcome during long solves.
How it behaves
It turns smoothly straight out of the box, with no breaking-in needed. As it has no magnets, the alignment of the faces depends on the mechanism and the tension of the screws; the feel is free, without the “click” of magnetic models.
What level it suits
It is a common way into the megaminx for anyone who can already solve the 3x3: the method is similar and only a few new pieces need learning. A magnetic version of the same model is available for anyone who wants more control.
