QiYi

QiYi is a Chinese manufacturer of speed cubes and twisty puzzles. Its company, QiYi MoFangGe, also uses other in-house brands such as MoFangGe and X-Man. On this page you will find QiYi Warrior cubes for learning, from 2x2 to 7x7, competition puzzles such as the Pyraminx, Skewb, Megaminx and Clock, shape mods with gears and the Kong Ming Lock series of assembly puzzles.

QiYi and Mats Valk's record

QiYi MoFangGe worked with Dutch speedcuber Mats Valk to create the Valk sub-brand, whose first cube, the Valk 3, came out in 2016. With a magnetised Valk 3, Valk broke the 3x3 world record that same year with 4.74 seconds, at the Jawa Timur Open in Indonesia. Today the group's other well-known sub-brand is X-Man, from which we stock the X-Man Wingy Skewb V2 M.

Most of the QiYi products we sell are beginner and practice cubes: lightweight, stickerless and factory magnetised in the M versions, designed for people who are starting out or who want one cube for each event without spending much.

QiYi's budget series, from 2x2 to 7x7. The Warrior versions are stickerless and many have a magnetic variant; the Sail models are the black plastic versions with stickers.

How to choose a QiYi cube

For learning

No magnets, lightweight and easy to turn. If this is your first cube, start with the 3x3 and follow our step-by-step method to solve the Rubik's Cube.

First magnetic cube

Magnets help the layers line up, and you notice it as soon as you start timing yourself. The M Pro adds compression you can adjust by hand, without tools.

Other events

For people who can already solve the 3x3 and want to try other puzzles. For the Pyraminx, see our guide on how to solve the Pyraminx.

QiYi FAQ

Are QiYi, MoFangGe and X-Man the same brand?

They are brands of the same group, QiYi MoFangGe. X-Man is used for some higher-end models, such as the Wingy Skewb we stock.

What is the difference between Warrior and Sail?

The Warrior cubes we sell are stickerless, with the colour in the plastic itself, and several have a magnetic version. The Sail models are the black plastic versions with stickers and no magnets, such as the Sail W 3x3.

Can the QiYi Clock be used in competition?

It has the format of nine clocks and four pins per side used by the WCA. Bear in mind that in June 2026 the WCA announced that Clock will no longer be an official event after the 2027 World Championship.

Which QiYi cube should I give to a beginner?

A Warrior S 3x3 or, if they can already solve it, the Warrior 3x3 magnetic. You will find more options in which Rubik's Cube to give and in the 3x3 speed cubes category.
