Paisley Royals is a deck by Dutch Card House Company, a Dutch publisher known for its decks designed for magicians. This is the red edition of the series and, although at first glance it looks like nothing more than an elegant deck, it is a marked deck: the back hides a code that indicates the suit and value of each card.

Design

The back reproduces the well-known paisley pattern (the Persian-inspired curved teardrop motif) on a maroon background, with metallic inks in scarlet red and gold. In this edition the gold ink extends beyond the white border of the back, a detail that sets it apart from an ordinary paisley deck. The suit and value marks are integrated into the design: they are easy to read once you have learned the system and go unnoticed by the audience. The faces keep a traditional look, with colour adjustments to match the tone of the edition.

The tuck box is matte, with two-colour foil (metallic film) hot stamping and embossing, and the same paisley pattern is printed in gold on the inside.

Manufacturing

It is printed by the United States Playing Card Company (USPCC) on Bicycle-quality card stock, with the crushing treatment that smooths the handling and a traditional cut of the edges.
