Description
Memento Mori NXS, short for Nexus, is the follow-up to the original Memento Mori and once again features Adrian Valenzuela, the artist who designed the first one. Memento mori is the Latin expression for “remember that you will die”, and this edition frames it as an invitation to make the most of your time and leave a legacy.

Design
Valenzuela takes his low poly style (images built from flat polygons) a step further: to the abstract shapes he adds realistic light and shadow. The result has a modern feel but is reminiscent of impressionist painting. The skull appears slightly worn, which is usually read as an allusion to the passage of time.
Manufacturing
It is printed by the United States Playing Card Company with an Air Cushion finish (a very fine embossing that helps the cards glide).
