The Hanging Gardens of Babylon is a Room One deck from its EON line, dedicated to the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It takes as its reference the terraces that tradition attributes to King Nebuchadnezzar II. This listing is for the standard edition.

Design

The palette combines blues, golds and greens reminiscent of the glazed bricks and ziggurats of Babylon. The back is built from an interlaced pattern of crossing staircases, a nod to the terraced structure of the gardens. The court cards depict Babylonian nobility in double-headed illustrations (they read the same either way up). On the pip cards, the suit symbols are large and do not follow the traditional layout, and the backgrounds carry fine details that create a sense of depth.

Manufacturing

The tuck box is embossed and hot-stamped with foil, and has a die-cut window revealing an extra card, number 55, illustrated with the gardens themselves. Room One gave the standard and the special edition the same box treatment.
