Description
This deck, designed by Xu Yu Juan, is part of a series devoted to the paintings of Vincent van Gogh and takes as its starting point his painting “Roses”, painted in the last period of his life. Its most recognisable feature is the back: it reproduces the work in full colour and without the usual white border.

Design
The back recomposes the image of the painting so that it is symmetrical and looks the same either way up. A broad, cool green dominates, accompanied by white and gold details. The tuck box and the background of the court cards are a clean white.
The court cards are hand-drawn in imitation of Van Gogh’s brushwork, and in the centre of their white background is a motif taken from another of his paintings of white roses.
Manufacturing
It is printed by the United States Playing Card Company (USPCC), a very well-known playing card manufacturer, and is a limited edition of 1,000 decks.
