The Premier Edition in Restricted Red belongs to the Premier Edition line from Jetsetter Playing Cards, a project by Paul Ruccio that came to life through a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign. The brand’s idea is to recapture the feel of the decks that casinos and airlines gave away in years gone by, but with a clean, modern line, aimed at fans of aviation, travel and playing cards.

Design

The red of this edition refers to restricted airspace, the zones where flying is prohibited. The back follows the classic casino model and the faces keep the standard design, recoloured to match the palette. The two jokers imitate a boarding pass, the deck’s most recognisable detail. The box combines clear spot UV varnish applied to specific areas (a gloss that highlights parts of the design) with silver foil accents (metallic stamping).

Manufacturing

It is printed by Expert Playing Card Company, an American printer widely used by independent publishers. It uses its standard stock with a classic finish and traditional cut, which makes it easier to interweave the cards in shuffles such as the faro (splitting the deck in two and interweaving the halves card by card).
