Description
Professor Puzzle’s Matchbox Tangram is a pocket version of the tangram, the classic seven-piece Chinese puzzle: five triangles of different sizes, a square and a parallelogram. The pieces are made of wood and travel in a box shaped like a matchbox. The first challenge is to put them together into a square.

How it works
The tangram is based on a very simple rule: you must always use all seven pieces, without overlapping them, to recreate a silhouette. From there it allows hundreds of figures, from geometric shapes to animals, people or objects, and it is common to invent new ones. Forming the initial square usually takes quite a few attempts.
Because of its simplicity, it is often used in the classroom to work on spatial awareness and geometry.
The Matchbox series
Professor Puzzle’s Matchbox series brings together small brain teasers, each kept in its own matchbox-shaped box. In addition to the main puzzle, nine extra challenges are printed on the sides of the box, so the product is not used up once you solve the first one.
