Description
The Pyramid is one of the mini puzzles in the Matchbox series from Professor Puzzle, the British publisher of games and puzzles. It has just three wooden pieces, and the challenge is to join them into a pyramid. With so few pieces it looks like a matter of seconds, but it usually takes a good deal longer.

How it works
It’s a three-dimensional assembly puzzle: the pieces aren’t joined together and have no mechanisms, and the problem lies in working out how they must be oriented so that together they make the required shape. The small number of pieces is deceptive, because each one can sit in many positions and the final shape is hard to picture.
Take your time and turn each piece every which way before ruling out a position: with such a small puzzle, the temptation to solve it quickly tends to work against you.
The Matchbox series
Professor Puzzle’s Matchbox series brings together small puzzles, each kept in its own matchbox-style box. As well as the main puzzle, the sides of the box carry nine extra printed challenges, so the fun doesn’t end once you’ve solved the first one.
