Description
The Snooker Balls is a three-dimensional assembly puzzle in Professor Puzzle’s Matchbox Puzzle series, from the British puzzle brand. Its wooden pieces are made up of coloured balls that recall those on a snooker table, the English form of billiards. The challenge is to arrange them so they form a perfect pyramid.

How it works
Unlike the wire or string puzzles in the same series, there is nothing to untangle here: it’s a construction puzzle, in which you have to find the position and orientation of each piece so that the whole thing closes into a pyramid with no gaps. The pieces all have different shapes, and there are more possible combinations than their size suggests.
Because it is made of balls, the puzzle forces you to think in three dimensions rather than on a flat plane, which makes it a good spatial reasoning workout.
What’s included
The pieces are kept in the series’ matchbox-style box, with a retro-style illustration. Nine more matchstick challenges are printed on the sides to extend the play.
