Description
Riptape is the fingerboard tape brand of Germany’s Blackriver. Its name is also used generically for this kind of riptape: the grip tape stuck to the top of the deck so your fingers don’t slip. Instead of abrasive grit, like skateboard grip tape, it is made of cellular rubber, a spongy material that grips the fingers.

What it’s like
The Classic version has a slightly rougher surface than the thinner Riptape Slim & Catchy; otherwise they work the same way. That rougher feel helps you control the board in flips and grinds.
Pre-cut format
It arrives cut to the shape of a deck, so you just peel off the backing paper, line it up and press down. The maker offers it in 30, 32 and 34 mm widths, and it fits almost any wooden fingerboard.
