Max “Norx” Norcross started playing in 2011 and has since become one of the best-known faces in kendama, through competitions, travel and videos. His previous signature model with Sweets Kendamas was very popular, and this edition brings back the #NorxMod on the Turbo shape.

Design

A kendama has a ken (handle with spike), a sarado (the piece with the side cups) and a tama (the ball). Turbo is the shape Christian Fraser designed for his 2026 model: it takes the BOOST, one of Sweets’ most popular shapes, as its base and redraws it with a sleeker silhouette that is comfortable in the hand and fine-tuned for taps (knocking the ball against the ken) and kenflips (flipping the handle in the air). The tama features a Break-In Bevel, a recess next to the hole that makes stalls, the tricks in which the ball rests on the ken, more stable.

Materials and finish

The ken is made of maple, a dense and stable wood, and the tama of beech. The Anti-Skid 2.0 lacquer is clear and matte: it gives grip in balance tricks but leaves room to correct the ball, and Sweets highlights its resistance to wear. According to the brand, the model aims to reflect Max’s years of travel and community and the idea of devoting yourself to what you love; part of every sale goes to the player.
