Crujir is a deck designed by Alex Matencio and produced by Area52Magic, in collaboration with Diva Playing Cards. It was conceived above all for cardistry (the art of creating striking shapes and moves with cards), although it also caters to the needs of magicians and left-handed shufflers.

Design

The back blends geometry and bold CMYK colours with a clear Bauhaus influence: lines, blocks, circles and edges. Every element is designed for movement: the lines shine in fans, the circles follow the spins and the blocks work in packet cuts. The court cards are based on Bicycle's so they remain recognisable, but they have no border and are 20% larger, which reveals more detail; the colours of their clothing match the back. The asymmetric tuck box offers a preview of the card design.

Manufacturing

It is printed by the United States Playing Card Company on premium Bee stock with a double crushed treatment (which makes it more flexible) and an Air Cushion finish (a very fine embossing that helps the cards glide). It has a traditional cut, which makes faro shuffling easier, interweaving the cards one by one. It is an edition limited to 2,000 decks that will not be reprinted.
