The Voyager is a deck from theory11, the American publisher known for its original-design decks. Its theme is the open road and the nomadic spirit: the idea of leaving everything behind and hitting the road. The illustrations are the work of Joshua Noom, who drew it in Fort Myers (Florida).

Design

The back, the aces and the jokers were drawn from scratch with motifs from life on the road, and the faces are also customised to fit the whole. The tuck box follows the same line, with nomad-inspired colours and elements. Its most distinctive feature is the technique: it is printed by letterpress (a press that leaves the artwork slightly debossed into the paper) on vintage machines dating from the late 1930s.

Manufacturing

It is made in the United States by the United States Playing Card Company (USPCC). The cards have an Air Cushion finish (a very fine embossing on the surface that helps them glide and separate easily). As is usual with theory11, care is taken over the origin of the materials: FSC-certified paper from sustainably managed forests, vegetable-based inks and starch-based laminates.
