Description
The Q-Platypus is a shape mod (a puzzle with a shape other than a cube) from SengSo, the brand under which ShengShou markets part of its range. This is its mirror version: all the pieces are blue and the only thing that sets them apart is their shape, so the challenge shifts from matching colours to rebuilding the original silhouette.

How it works
On the Q-Platypus both the faces and the cylindrical tips at each end turn. The coloured version is often compared, in the way it is solved, to a Jing’s Pyraminx, and is considered an accessible puzzle for anyone venturing beyond competition cubes. In the mirror version, with no colours, you have to look at the size and profile of each piece to work out where it goes.
