The Classic Magic Clock M is ShengShou’s (SengSo) standard magnetic clock: nine dials per side, four pins and four wheels, the same format used in the WCA Clock event. ShengShou was one of the first brands to mass-produce a Clock with magnets.

How it works

It is a two-sided puzzle. The four wheels on the edge turn the clocks, and the four central pins, which can be pushed up or down, determine which clocks move together on each turn. The corner dials are linked to those on the other side, so every move affects both sides. The aim is to get all eighteen hands pointing to twelve.

Design

The pins have magnets, which keeps them firmly up or down and lets you feel the change of position. The casing is transparent and shows the coloured plate with the dials. It forms a series with the same brand’s six-clock and eleven-clock versions.

What level it suits

The Clock does not require memorising many algorithms: the key is understanding the relationship between pins and wheels. This model is well suited to getting started in the event or to practising on a clock in the official format. ShengShou has a second version (V2) with a more complete magnet system.
