The QiYi Warrior M Pro is the most complete version in the Warrior family, QiYi’s budget range. To the basic magnetic 3x3 it adds a spring compression system adjusted by hand, so the feel can be changed without opening the cube or using a screwdriver.

How it works

It’s magnetic: the magnets in the pieces help each layer stop in alignment at the end of a turn, which reduces corrections during algorithms. The hand-adjustable compression system changes the pressure of the core springs, in other words the tension (how tightly or loosely the layers are held together). With more compression the cube feels firmer and more stable; with less, faster. One or two users comment that the springs are quite stiff and that they prefer the softer settings.

Design

It’s stickerless (no stickers: the colour is in the plastic itself). It measures 55 mm, a slightly compact size for a 3x3, and weighs around 74–76 g. Specialist retailers highlight decent corner cutting (the ability to turn even when the layers aren’t fully aligned) for its price range.
